PineOS
Effective July 23, 2026
PineOS respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how PineOS collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use the PineOS mobile application, website, and related services.
By using PineOS, you agree to the collection and use of information described in this Privacy Policy.
We collect information you provide directly, information created through your use of the app, and information you choose to connect from third-party services such as Apple Health.
Information you provide may include:
Information collected automatically may include:
We do not collect precise location data unless you choose to provide it.
PineOS allows you to log meals, scan food photos, scan barcodes, search foods, save meals, and track calories, protein, carbohydrates, fats, water, weight, and progress.
Food photos, food descriptions, barcode information, and related nutrition information may be processed to estimate meal contents and nutrition values.
Nutrition estimates may not always be accurate. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and confirming meal information before relying on it.
With your permission, PineOS may read selected data from Apple Health, including:
With your permission, PineOS may write body weight entries to Apple Health.
PineOS does not write steps, calories burned, active energy, workouts, meals, dietary energy, calories consumed, protein, carbohydrates, fats, or other nutrition data to Apple Health.
Apple Health data is used to provide activity, heart-rate trend, weight, progress, and optional nutrition-target features. Heart-rate trends are informational and are not a medical assessment.
If you connect Apple Health and use the AI Coach, a summary of your activity is sent to our AI provider so the Coach can answer using your real numbers. That summary contains your step count and Active Energy for the day you are asking about, your 7-day averages for both, and your latest recorded weight. It never includes heart-rate readings. If you do not connect Apple Health, no Health data is sent. If you connect Apple Health but do not use the Coach, no Health data is sent.
We do not use Apple Health data for advertising. We do not sell Apple Health data. We do not share Apple Health data with data brokers. We do not permit our AI provider to use it to train their models.
You can manage Apple Health permissions at any time in the Apple Health app or in your device settings.
We use your information to:
We do not sell your personal information.
When you upload a food photo, PineOS may process that image to estimate meal contents and nutrition information.
Uploaded images may be processed by trusted service providers only as needed to provide app functionality, maintain reliability, and improve the service.
You should not upload sensitive images, private documents, or content unrelated to food tracking.
We may use trusted third-party service providers to help operate PineOS, including providers for:
These providers may process information only as needed to provide services to PineOS.
We do not allow service providers to sell your personal information.
PineOS uses a third-party AI provider for the features that estimate or explain your food. What is sent depends on which feature you use:
Your photos, recordings and health information are sent for the sole purpose of returning that result to you. They are not used for advertising, sold, or used to train the provider’s models.
You can use PineOS without these features. Barcode scanning, food search and manual entry do not send anything to the AI provider.
If PineOS offers paid subscriptions or purchases, payments are processed by Apple through the App Store.
We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
Apple may provide us with limited purchase and subscription information, such as subscription status, purchase status, renewal status, transaction identifiers, and refund status, so we can manage access to paid features.

If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, unless retention is required or permitted by law.
